If one word can describe the ministry of Colonial Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia, it would have to be the word grace. This church fellowship was founded by God’s grace in 1979. It has existed and thrived by God’s grace every day since then. It preaches God’s grace to sinner and saint alike. Hence, her theme verse is Acts 20:32“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”
It is the conviction that God’s children are “built up” by God’s grace that has given birth to the Colonial Discipleship Training program. Believing that the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20) places the disciple-making mandate on the lap of every believer, we are offering this counseling/discipleship training to “equip the saints for the work of ministry” (Eph 4:12). Indeed, we have as our goal the words Paul penned to the believers at Rome“Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another” (Rom 15:14).
Join us in our journey of disciple-making through the CDT program. You will grow in your own Christlikeness as you disciple others along the same path.
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
